dhPlus 1.9 and 1.10 have continued our tradition of rolling releases throughout 2024 and 2025. Improvements include the inclusion of Node-RED into our software suite along with it's web based HMI as a more powerful alternative to C-more when needed. In the last year, we've completed four PLC / Node-RED projects with two more on this year's calendar.
In March, AutomationDirect released a Node-RED option module for the Click Plus PLC which now gives it tremendous WCS capabilities beyond those of the Productivity and DoMore families. This hardware release gives us a new option for the Flex Edition, which is the distributed configuration of dhPlus.
Starting with 1.11, the Flex Edition will be the default configuration and will simply be called dhPlus Flex. This features one or more control pedestals with an HMI, PLC, E-stop circuit, network switch and circuit breakers for 120VAC and 24VDC power distribution. All motor starters and VFDs are field mounted near their respective motors.
For projects that require large, traditional control panels as well as customer special requests (e.g. CompactLogix PLC), this configuration will be called dhPlus Custom. The custom configuration will cost more and have a longer lead time, but will always be an available option.
Flex is the quick to deploy and affordable option of the dhPlus family. It now takes center stage.
